Absorption
Absorption is the movement of ions and water into an organism as a result of metabolic processes, frequently against an electrochemical potential gradient (active) or as a result of diffusion along an activity gradient (passive), its also the adhesion of atoms or molecules from a gas , liquid or dissolved solid to a surface.
