The aim in
formulating rations is to provide animals with a consumable quality of feed
stuffs that will give all nutrients required in adequate or greater amount and
do so in a cost effective way. This is the process of selecting two or more
ingredient, mixed and processed according to specifications for animal use. For
formulation, is the construction of feed or diet formula. Today, almost all
rations are formulated by the aid of a computer compared with only a few years
ago when all rations were calculated by hand. Use of computers has resulted in a
more complete evaluation of nutrients profile in rations and as well allowed
for economics to be a part in ration formulation decisions.
