Methods of ration formulation

In ration formulation, knowledge of the type and amount of nutrients required to meet the defined objectives and the available feed ingredients in the locality are essential. Once these have been resolved, the next step is to put the information into a formula that will calculate the specific diets.

There are three methods of ration formulations namely;

• Pearson square method
• Algebraic method
• Trial and error method
