Drought control in ploughs

In plough, the drought control system is incorporated in the tractor links to achieve a greater accuracy of automatic drought control of the implement. With the automatic drought control, the position of the hand control lever represents a given implement or plough draught rather than a particular depth. The variations in draught causes the plough to be raised or lowered automatically as required to restore the draught to the selected value.

It helps in varying depth of operations on the field with non-uniform soil resistance regardless of whether the field is smooth or undulating. If the soil resistance is uniform, depth fluctuations caused by irregular ground surfaces are less with automatic drought control than with automatic position control.
