Field cultivator
is a secondary tillage implement for the preparation of seedbed, weed eradication
or shallow cultivation is subsequent to some forms of primary tillage. Field cultivators
are equipped with spring steel shanks with the provision of mounting
interchangeable sweep or shovel tools at the lower ends. The spring steel
shanks are spring-cushioned or rigidly mounted. Chisel plough, compared to the operation
of field cultivators, differs from the cultivator by being constructed stronger
with wider spaced shanks for primary tillage. The shanks are generally space
between 15cm and 23cm.
