Maintenance guide of an orchard


In an orchard establishment, the maintenance includes the following;
  • Addition of organic matter to the soil
  • Prevent the growth of weed and unwanted grasses
  • Protect the surface root from excessive temperature
  • Checking and retaining the soil moisture content
  • Permission of water and air circulation in the soil
  • Covering of the top layer of the soil with some material like leaves, papers and so on to serve as mulching in the orchard establishment
