Healthy seed


The health of a seed is considered primarily to the presence or absence of diseases which causes the organizing of defect such as fungi, virus, bacteria, insect as well as animal pests. A seed may look very healthy outwardly and yet have some disease within it. To test for healthy seed, the following methods are used;
  • Floating method      
  • Examination without incubation
  • Examination after incubation.
